Part of our social studies unit included learning how a bill becomes a law. We did a simulation of this. Students became senators, representatives or the president. They presented law ideas, voted and then sent their bill to the other chamber to get voted on. Then, the president either signed or vetoed the bills. In one class, the bills never made it to the president, they were voted down. In the other two classes both bills were signed by the president.

Before Open House, our 4th graders got together with an upstairs 4th grade team to do an art/reflection project together. Students created self portraits and wrote about all they have learned so far this year. My homeroom had a lot of fun with Mrs. Whitehouse's homeroom. I wish I had thought to get some photos of the other classes! I promise I will next time!
Students shared their published personal narrative pieces this week with their classmates. There are some great stories that you will get to read on Open House!
