Our opinion writing essay celebration was Friday, January 16th. Parents and students walked around and read essays. After, they made comments for the student who wrote the essay. We were very happy to share our work! Pictures will be added soon.

In December before break, we had a visitor to discuss writing with us. The visitor was my son, Jake, who attends Clark University in Massachusetts. The students enjoyed discussing their thinking process as they write. Hopefully, they also got some ideas from each other of what to do if they ever get stuck while writing.
We had a competition before the holiday break in our school. Our class dorr supported RED: Remember Everyone Deployed. Students traced their hands in red and green. Using the red hands we made a wreath on one door and a tree on the other. Students decorated ornaments and put the name of anyone close to them who had been deployed. That person did not have to be deployed currently. Our door won! We received some classroom books for students to borrow and read if they wish! We had a good time with this and were happy to be able to support military families with this small gesture. |
